I don’t give two shits about television typically, but, oh Lord, this is too awesome to be true.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution just broke a story about the cast of “The Vampire Diaries,” a new show on The CW surely trying to cash in on the recent popularity of vampire- and various undead-themed television shows, books and movies. Apparently, the cheery four women pictured above were hanging over a bridge on I-75 in middle Georgia, flashing motorists.
A cop said they were breaking the law. They said they were shooting for the show.
The law won, it appears.
I’d read the show was shooting in Georgia, didn’t really care and then moved on. Then I saw a commercial, and saw that girl who used to be on “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” the finest Canadian, teenage melodrama you could ever hope to see. (Disco Vietnam frontman and one-time Cribbster contributor Barry Schwartz likes to say, “‘Degrassi’: It goes there.” And it does.) That actress, Nina Dobrev (pictured lower left in the photo), played the character of Mia Jones in “Degrassi.” She was the one who got pregnant and had a kid at, like, the age of 12 or something.
Dobrev is 20 years old. All the girls are older then 20, actually. The AJC actually got in touch with one of them, and the actress hung up on the reporter. Hilarious.
A few choice quotes:
‘They were flashing drivers, hanging over the bridge,’ she said. ‘One girl was holding another girl’s ankles and hanging her over the bridge like she was going to drop her.’
And:
CW TV spokeswoman Pam Morrison said she had no information about the arrests. But Morrison said the show, which is filmed in Atlanta, had ‘great ratings’ for its debut Thursday.
Classic shit.
no no. I say, “It’s go there” big difference
