I was perusing the DVD sale at Borders on Ponce de Leon Avenue on Tuesday. It’s usually somewhat sacriligeous and pretty much downright idiotic to buy movies at Borders and Barnes & Noble, which specialize in buying DVDs and then marking them up about $10 because retarded white people and coffee drinkers are willing to spend $25 on a copy of “Oldboy” simply because it’s “a cool Korean movie… very, like, Kafkaesque.” Continue reading ‘SteelBooks or I don’t know what to do about freakin’ SteelBooks’

TRAILER REVIEW: ‘Fighting’ or Dito Montiel returns

Apple Trailers finally dropped a hi-def trailer for “Fighting,” the sophomore flick from writer-director Dito Montiel. Montiel dropped like a hammer on the scene in 2006. Dude had written a book called “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints” and somehow by the grace of God was allowed to adapt the book for the screen and direct it. He’s a weird guy. Stammers a lot. Plays himself down. Was briefly famous in the early ’90s when his punk band signed a $1 million deal with Geffen Records and got immediately dropped, making his band one of the most successful unsuccessful bands in rock history, according to Wikipedia, which is an accurate reference source.
